Illness

No child (or staff members) can be left at or attend Kids at Play if there are signs of infectious disease, within 24 hours of symptoms presenting. This might include a rash, raised temperature, conjunctivitis, severe coughs or colds or diseases such as chicken pox, measles, mumps, hand foot and mouth etc.

In general, if children (and staff members) experience vomiting and/or diarrhoea they should not be in the centre until 48 hours after all symptoms have stopped.

Children should otherwise be kept away from the centre as per advice from your doctor, or as the centre has been advised by the Auckland Regional Public Health Service. This is a necessary rule, not only to avoid the spread of the infection to other children and staff, but also for the child’s sake.

Holidays

The centre closes for 3 weeks during Christmas. No fees are required during the 3 week closure. Fees are charged in full throughout the year for the time your child is booked in and not just the time of his or her attendance i.e holidays or sickness. This includes statutory holidays.
