Illness

No child (or staff member) can be left at or attend Kids at Play if there are signs of infectious disease within 24 hours of symptoms presenting. This might include a rash, raised temperature, conjunctivitis, severe coughs or colds, or diseases such as chicken pox, measles, mumps, hand, foot, and mouth.

If children (and staff members) experience vomiting and/or diarrhoea, they should not be in the centre until 48 hours after all symptoms have stopped.

Children should be kept away from the centre, as advised by your doctor or the Auckland Regional Public Health Service. This is necessary not only to avoid the spread of the infection to other children and staff but also for the child’s sake.

Holidays

The centre closes for two weeks during Christmas. No fees are required during this closure. Fees are charged in full throughout the year for the time your child is enrolled, not just the time of their attendance, i.e., holidays or sickness. This includes statutory holidays.
